Fleetwood Mac Rumours

Fleetwood Mac - Rumors

Arguably one of the best albums of the seventies, with some of the most infamous band lore of all time, Fleetwood Mac’s Rumors is one to get your hands on this Record Store Day. Who wouldn’t want to hear Dreams on vinyl, the way Stevie intended it? Or Songbird - for when you’re missing Christine McVie? The band are re-releasing the album in picture disc format, exclusively for Record Store Day, so you’ll be treated to that iconic image of Stevie and Mick, lavatory chains and all, in vinyl format.

The Doors - Live at Konserthuuset, Stockholm

The Doors – Live at Konserthuset, Stockholm. 20 September 1968

Throughout their short lived but infinitely enduring years together, The Doors were prolific in releasing their live material, with about twenty live albums being officially released by the group in all. But, strangely, some of their best material - like this 1968 gig in Stockholm - never made the cut. Including rare performances like Love Street and Wild Child, this 3LP set is a chaotic union of psychedelia, rock, jazz and blues. It’s indicative of the band's late-sixties peak, with pristine soundboard and production quality (courtesy of the set being recorded for a Swedish radio show - cheers). This is for sure a uniquely special item – leave aside that YouTube bootleg forever by picking up this piece on Record Store Day.

Miles Kane - Miles Kane and the Evils

Miles Kane - Miles Kane and the Evils

An instrumental collaboration between Miles Kane and Sunglasses for Jaws, this four-track surf-rock EP will take listeners back to the sixties. Citing Dick Dale, Pink Panther, James Bond, and Batman as inspiration, Kane explores some of his early stylistic influences with this new side project. Hearing this indie rocker’s guitar skills take centre stage will certainly make this release one to watch. We can’t wait to get it in our hands - and into our ears. Released in physical format only, exclusively for Record Store Day.

The. 1975 - Live From Gorilla

The 1975 - The 1975 Live From Gorilla

In February of 2023, The 1975 played the entirety of their debut album, originally released in 2013, at Manchester’s Gorilla, to a crowd of just 500 people. For Record Store Day, the band have opted to release a vinyl pressing of this live performance. Their debut album is, in itself, a masterclass in dreamy, indie-pop - and hearing the band perform it, in full, while at their very best -get it?- is a real treat. With iconic songs like Chocolate and Robbers, as well as some of their lesser-known -but no less brilliant- tracks like Talk! and M.O.N.E.Y, The 1975 Live From Gorilla is sure to be one of the best releases this year.

Queen - Cool Cat

Queen – Cool Cat

Queen’s tenth studio album Hot Space (1982) didn’t go down too well with fans or critics alike. Its dance-pop style was seen as an uninvited deflection from the band’s rock excess which had come to be adored. But maybe it’s time for a revision of all this. Released on Record Store Day as a single for the first time, Cool Cat combines a signature strong bassline from John Deacon with smooth and soulful vocals by Freddie Mercury, to create a disco-funk track emblematic of musical trends in the early eighties. It showcases the bands enduring musical versatility while maintaining their renowned creativity and musical prowess. Not to be missed by those who love an unashamedly groovy track.

Divorce - Heady Metal

Divorce - Heady Metal

Uniquely blending alternative country with a bit of grunge, Divorce’s sound comes as a breath of fresh air to listeners. Their 2023 EP Heady Metal boasts vulnerable and hard-hitting lyrics delivered with striking vocals. From the breathtaking build of Birds to the hauntingly beautiful Right On Time, this EP only gets better with each listen. The perfect soundtrack for warm summer days and late-night drives. Released on pink vinyl and with stunning alternate album artwork.

Black Sabbath - Paranoid

Black Sabbath - Paranoid

1970’s Paranoid by Black Sabbath is one of the most iconic albums of all time - and probably one of the earliest examples of heavy metal to come out of Britain. The titular track, Paranoid, is perhaps Sabbath’s most well-known song, and the first song on the record, War Pigs, is an anti-war anthem that’s just as relevant now as it was when the album first came out, fifty-four years ago. If you get a chance to grab Paranoid (on a limited edition splattered disc) this Record Store Day, take it.

Pulp - Intro: the Gift Recordings

Pulp - Intro: The Gift Recordings

With classics like Babies and Razzmatazz tracked alongside some deep-cut gems, there is a bit of something for everyone with this album. A rerelease of a compilation made for Gift in 1993, this collection stands as a perfect time capsule of the iconic British band on the verge of superstardom. The album features the same quirky, relatable, and, at times, absurd storytelling that is a hallmark of Cocker’s lyricism. Stand-out tracks include Styloroc and 59 Lyndhurst Grove. Re-pressed for the first time since its original release, this album is not to be missed this Record Store Day.

100 gecs - Snake Eyes

100 gecs – Snake Eyes

For half a decade duo Dylan Brady and Laura Les have been on the cutting-edge of what technology can do for musical innovation. The 3-song Snake Eyes EP is beloved by fans of 100 gecs for epitomising their style, and is being exclusively pressed for the first time for Record Store Day. Their production of experimental pop with wild, frenzied beats, glitchy production and heavily processed vocals is genre-defying and will challenge anybody’s conception of what ‘pop’ music looks like. For those wanting a taste of an irreverent and irregular attitude towards a genre that is so often mass produced, Snake Eyes is a must for Record Store Day. Fans of gecs are ravenous for discovering unreleased material so arrive ready for a 1 on 1 if the record is in short supply (EP name duh!)
